Chapter 4 - My Sister

After a few days of knowing the truth I saw a girl, her face was covered with a black cloth. Two boys were following her. I thought they were disturbing her, as boys are like that. I asked Barbara and Nova to spill sauce on their faces and act as if it was a mistake. They did so, and as the boys rubbed their face I took the girl with me in a corner.

She shouted “Leave me, I want to go back. Why are you troubling me?”
“I am saving you from those boys, first take out this cloth from your face.” I explained.
I took the cloth off her face. Wait, she also had red eyes! Good to know that I did not look deeply in her eyes. I took her back home with me with force. Mom was very happy and took care that she would not reveal the truth at once because we were still not sure that she believed us but we tried to convince her that she really was my sister and belonged to our family.
At last she understood.

The next day, my mother had to go to the principal of ‘The Students High School of California’ and talk about Fern’s admission. She was really good at everything, in studies, games, sports and even a good baby sitter. She even, had more friends in school than me. As, she was very kind hearted. Mother loved her more than me as she helped in making food. She was a very good singer and a flexible dancer too. Teachers praised her even when she was wrong answer. Many boys ran after her taking her books but she was too kind hearted and told them that she could do it herself.
“Fern is very kind, Fern is so cute,” I could hear only this in the class room and the lobby.
“Eat this, sister, Locket I’ve made it by myself” said Fern in a bright voice.
“She is a very nice chef, Locket she makes food delicious.” Mom boasted.
I used to go shopping with mom but now Fern goes. I thought that this would be fun but she took my place.

Chapter 3-Our Trip

I reached my destination at night and decided to start solving the puzzle the next day. As I went into bed I thought about the mystery. At first it seemed that it was a web of strings, all connected together, I was not able to grab even a single end of it. After some time I decided to go to Dr. Stingwell’s house the next day.

I woke up and told my teacher that I wanted to meet a very important man of my life. She understood by my face that it was important and gave me the permission. I reached the doctor’s house. And the name on the name plate was some another. I read the address twice, but could not reach to any conclusion as to what the correct address would be.

I sat down on the door step and tried to find a clue. After sometime started unscrambling the letters and wrote the new address. I went to almost twenty houses and this was the only hope left. The address was
46/19 Thorn Viden Park, Washington straight.

I had too many hopes for this last house. I searched for the name plate but couldn’t find it. I knocked on the door and waited. Nobody came. I rang the bell again. After some time an old man came out and asked me my problem. I could see from his clothes that he was doctor. He wore a light blue T-shirt and a white gown. His hair were white as his age was also very much. He had a very big scar on his left cheek, just below the ear.

He was very angry at me for disturbing him in his work. I just said one sentence, “Please, can I talk to you for a minute about Jonathan.” his face seemed to take a sudden change and he seated me on the couch.

He hurriedly went outside and locked his clinic. Then he comforted himself on the couch and started. “So, what do you want to know about Jonathan?”
“Jonathan was my father’s friend, a very close friend.” I explained.
“You don’t mean you’re Charlie’s daughter, are you?”
“Yes I am.”

“Your father was a very good man. He could do anything for Jonathan. Once he jumped from the top floor of his college to save Jonathan from a fight with his friends. Are you here to know something secretly?”
“I think I am.”

“I can see that you’ve worn lenses and I think I know the reason. Do you have red eyes?” his face was anxious.

The answer was yes and I told him how I got to know about him and what I had to know about myself.
“You are a unique kind of human. I have always liked to study about people of different worlds. One day I found out something that changed my life. Jonathan and your father were my classmates. After I saw the colour of his eyes, I wanted to know about his gins. I started a type of research and the result was a stunning one.”

“I found out that Jonathan had the power to interchange between the people of the worlds. People thought that I was a foolish scientist wasting my time on these things. They thought there were no hell people, no heaven people, but now, when the hell people will attack on this world then they will believe” he stopped catching his breath. I was shocked to know that hell people will soon be the king of this world. I asked him “what do you mean by hell people coming in this world?”

He was surprised “you don’t know? Mrs. Cathy didn’t tell you?”
“What?” I was really very eager.
“Okay, I will tell you, never look into your sister’s eyes very deeply or hell people will come here.”
“What? Sister? I am a single child”
“You think so, Mrs. Cathy didn’t tell you about Fern? She is your twin sister. Long ago Stonny took her, he is a hell boy. He also wants to take you and bring hell people here. Your father did not know that what would happen if he looked in his brother’s eyes. He did not know and looked in his brother’s eyes. Good to know that he did not look for long and till then only Stonny was able to come here from hell. He had taken a human body and is now; living in it and your sister is living along with him, following his commands. Only you can free your sister. It was never known which body his spirit had taken. Believe me, or this world is going through its last days.”

I was busy in my thoughts when he suddenly interrupted me, “And. Do not tell these things to anybody.” He said looking into my eyes as if he also had them once.

“My twin sister, this would be fun!” I felt that it was strange that I had a twin sister and mum did not tell me anything at all about it.
“And, doctor what is your age?”
“Err……………I think so 309.”
“What! It is impossible.” I was very stunned.
“I can’t die” he said proudly;
“Okay………….gonna go bye and thanks for your help” I said in a sweet voice.
As I was standing out of the house the phone rang.
“Locket, we are leaving.” Said Ms. Elano
In our flight journey I forgot that Dr. Stingwell had asked me not to tell these things to anybody but I could not control myself and told Nova and Barbara. First they took it as a joke but at last they believed me. Barbara told her things to her parents so, she told her father.

Chapter 2-The Unbearable Truth

In the evening my mother was much tensed and spoke hurriedly.
“Now I can’t hide it from you anymore. The bitter truth has become unbearable.” She started.

I was astonished at her words. What was she saying? What was the truth? And about what? “I want” she continued “to tell you the terrible truth of your eyes.”

I thought that my mother was just joking and cut her off. I didn’t feel the matter so serious till it was night and I went to sleep. I lay down on my bed and closed my eyes and thought about the happenings of the day. I started feeling very uneasy when I thought about my eyes. That night, I couldn’t sleep. My head was full of curiosity about the ‘truth’.

I woke up and steadily went to my mother and asked about the truth. But she told me that she needed some time to explain it in the right way. “Even a single slip of word can lead to misunderstanding.” she said and sent me to school.

At school, I was not at all happy when students came and commented on my eyes. I just got irritated with everything related to ‘eyes’.

I went back in an angry mood. But as soon as I saw my mother, I calmed down and without saying a word I sat beside her. She also knew why I did that so she began the story.

“It was long back, when your father was just ten, he had a friend by the name, Jonathan. They were very good friends and shared every little thing together. That’s what brought death to your father. Jonathan too had red eyes like you and he was told by some spirit that he had to touch a ribbon kind of thing down beneath the earth.” She continued

“He told this to your father and this was the starting of his end. Your father also offered to help Jonathan and together they found the treasure. They were too excited to think what they were doing. In this excitement your father touched the ribbon and died. Then he was reborn as a man with red eyes and his twin brother already had red eyes. After touching the ribbon he got red eyes. He didn’t have them at first, I don’t know why.  Jonathan never knew why this happened. So, he did not dare to touch the ribbon. He came and just told me the things I have told you and something about Dr. Stingwell and said that he could help me in future.”
It took me a minute to understand the whole thing but the truth was still incomplete, it seemed. I asked mother to tell me more about my eyes, but she was as if a dumb creature. I saw carefully at her and spotted a tear running down her cheeks. I was too touched to speak anymore. So, I went to my room and calmed my thumping heart and thought about the matter. I ate my lunch and then went to play, came back and ate dinner and into my bed I went.

Late at night I went to my mother, woke her up and asked if she knew where Dr. Stingwell was. And she knew. Dr. Stingwell’s address, five years ago was 19/46 North Diven Park, Washington Street. I was filled with hope to find him.
My school was going to Washington next week and I was definitely one of them.

On Friday, I packed up my things and was all set to go to Washington. Next day I went to school early morning and did not tell anything to any of my friends. I had worn blue lens above my eyes to be safe from suspicions in Washington

The Secret Of The Red Eyes (book) Ch- 1

Chapter 1- My life

It was my first day the school in California. My bus stopped at the red light waiting for it to be green. I always felt uneasy when I saw another colour after the red one. My eyes were of red colour and I was really very happy that they were unique. The light turned green and we moved forward. For a minute or two, nothing was visible to me. I don’t know why it happened only to me.

I reached my school and everyone was like, Wow! But I actually didn’t know if that it was for me or for my eyes. In a day almost all children as well as teachers started liking me, or my eyes, I didn’t know.

I came back from school very tired. I asked mother to give me some food and then I would sleep for a while. I saw my mother’s face while she was giving me food. It was like she had a burden on her head and as if she will have to face a dreaded thing in future. She gave me my food. As I ate it my mother started to talk. “So, how was your school today?” She spoke as if she was very careful with each and every word she said and it was like she was trying to force each word out of her mouth.

“It was terribly good at school today. All children were running after me to see my eyes. I too was very happy to be unique.” It seemed that my answer had caused her pain, so I stopped.

Our neighbour Stealth was a very good man but there was a problem with him, he stole our things and we never came to know about it and the second day he would come and give them back. We really scratched our heads to remember the time we lended our things to him. It was his daughter’s third attempt for the high school examination but she couldn’t pass through.

My dog, Timmy, who was very dear to me, was like my best friend. He was a golden retriever. He had a separate bed of his own, but preferred to sleep with me.

My friends who were not just friends because of my eyes, but because of my generous heart. Nova my best friend, was an aggressive person and Barbara who was a very sensitive girl. She often used to cry while seeing romantic and emotional movies.
